The mission of this trip was to discover the ruins of Echo Mountain House, a 19th century Victorian luxury hotel, and the wheels and gears of Mt. Lowe Railway that took the visitors there. One of our parents, Mr. Kazarian (a member of AHA- Armenian Hikers Association) also accompanied the group.
This was a relatively easy hike of 90 minutes, which rewarded our young discoverers with an amazing view of the San Gabriel Valley, the Pacific Ocean and the Catalina Island.
The young discoverers also found the Echo-phone. And it works! They used it to shout messages across the mountain.
