Mock Trial

With the assistance of a teacher and attorney coach, The Constitutional Rights Foundation’s Mock Trial program actively engages over 8,000 students across the state of California. By studying the case and preparing strategies and arguments for the trial, students also develop presentation skills, analytic ability, and team cooperation. The competition simulates a criminal court case‒a cyberbullying and swatting case on this one‒where students perform as attorneys, witnesses, bailiffs and clerks.

This year we had 19 participants from AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School. The Mock Trial team was coached by the school’s English teacher, Mrs. Anoush Markarian, and the attorney, Mr. Rouman Ebrahim. On November 5th, the first round took place in Downtown, Los Angeles. The defense team successfully won the verdict. On November 13th, the second round took place and the prosecution team was also very productive.

AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School ranked top 40 of the 130 schools who participated. Go Spartans!
