Head of School Welcome

On behalf of our trustees, faculty, staff, parents, and students, it is a pleasure to welcome you via our website to AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School.  As you browse the information provided, I anticipate that you will find one of the finest independent high schools in the greater Los Angeles area.  Our goal is to continue to be the finest high school with a mission that combines rigorous academics, competitive athletics, commitment to the fine arts, and an understanding of the true meaning of community service.

Our faculty have been educated well in their disciplines and each brings a unique set of techniques and interests to make their subject area exciting and personal.  Aside from our academic program which includes 11 Advanced Placement courses, 11 Honors opportunities, and a strong college prep curriculum, we have 14 clubs including an active Student Council and National Honor Society.  Our 12 athletic teams and cheer are competitive in the CIF and have garnered CIF championships.  We are adding to this area based on student interest on an annual basis.  Our commitment to the fine arts is seen through our Armenian drama, dance, choral, and recitation programs along with individual interests in music and art.  To complete the development of a well-defined high school experience, we believe that from those that are given much, much is expected to be given.  This is the core of our commitment to being involved in community service.

I encourage you to take a journey through our website and to explore aspects of AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School.  Once you have finished this initial exploration, please make plans to call us and come by for a tour or to perhaps spend a part of the day.  We wish to accommodate your schedule.

I look forward to seeing you on our campus and hopefully, as a member of our student and parent body.
