In 2012, the AGBU Vatche and Tamar Manoukian High School established a Cisco Networking Academy program.
Cisco Networking Academy is a global education program that teaches students how to design, build, troubleshoot, and secure computer networks for increased access to career and economic opportunities in communities around the world.
The students started with the “IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software” program, which provides an overview of computer fundamentals and an introduction to advanced concepts. Upon completion, students receive a “CompTIA A+” certification. They can follow with the “CCNA Discovery” program, which provides an overview of general networking theory and opportunities for practical experience, career exploration, and soft-skills development. Upon completion, students receive a “Cisco CCENT and Cisco CCNA” certification.
The Cisco Academy course is provided every Tuesday and Thursday after school in the Computer Lab.
